Governor "good hair" Perry has announced plans to sign the anti-gay so-called marriage protection amendment at a Fort Worth church... well at the church's Christian Academy gymnasium which doubles for a chapel.
First -- it's a consitutional amendment and the governor's signature isn't required to make it law... the voters will or won't do that in November. So this little signing ceremony is simply a pandering stunt for the talivangelicals.
Second -- this is the first shot across the bow for more moderate GOP'ers (Hutch & Strayhorn) that they'll have show their gay-baiting credentials if they want to win in the primary.
Third -- Can anyone say whether or not such a ceremony is grounds to examine this church's tax-exempt status?
